Consumer Notice: Apps such as Cash App, Venmo and Zelle are a quick and convenient alternative to traditional cash or plastic card transactions, but this convenience can come with more risk for consumers.

There are increasing scams and fraud associated with these apps. Please be aware that employees of these services are often impersonated by scammers circulating fake phone numbers online. A real employee of these services will never ask for your PIN or sign in code to access these apps. If you receive a phone call or message from an unknown source asking for you to transfer funds using one of these apps, please do not respond. These types of services do not generally provide live phone support at this time, but instead ask that you contact them via the app or by email.

Please keep in mind that these apps should only be used to send funds to people you know!
