How does Agriculture Federal Credit Union (AgFed) collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • open an account or deposit money
  • pay your bills or use your credit or debit card
  • apply for financing

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State law and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

Definitions

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Our affiliates include financial companies, such as Credit Union Mortgage Association (CUMA).
Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Agriculture Federal Credit Union (AgFed) does not share with our nonaffiliates so they can market to you.
Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

Online Privacy Policy

Introduction

The Internet Website Privacy Policy explains how Agriculture Federal Credit Union (AgFed) uses information, how AgFed keeps information private, what systems this affects, and in what circumstances information may be shared.

Information Collection and Usage

First and foremost, AgFed does not gather, collect, or maintain any information about its members that can identify a member as an individual except for such services as the member makes information available. These services include AgFed's online loan application service and AgFed Online, the online account access service. AgFed gathers only information that is necessary to process the member's request.

In other cases AgFed collects general data about the users of AgFed's Internet site for statistical purposes only. The data is viewed in aggregate and is not personally identifying. For example, AgFed collects data on the day of the week and time of day that visitors are coming to the site. AgFed also collects information on how long members are staying on the site and how many members are coming to the site each week. Additionally, AgFed does not share any of this information with groups other than those that have specifically contracted or allied with for the purpose of improving the overall members experience on the website.

AgFed may in some cases make individually identifying information available in the following circumstances:

  • where ordered by a court or other legal body;
  • where it is lawfully permitted or required;
  • where there is an agreement to provide information under contracts to vendors and partners to make products and services available to AgFed members; and
  • where the member has requested or consents to the disclosure of information.

In those cases where AgFed discloses information to outside vendors, the Credit Union requires that they use it for no purpose other than providing previously specified services to its members.

Mobile App Collected Information

We may collect information regarding your mobile device such as settings, unique device identifiers, information about your location, and analytical information that may assist with diagnostics and performance. For your convenience, you may be asked to grant permission to access to your mobile device's geolocation data. This information may be collected when you use certain services that are dependent on your mobile device's location (such as the location of an ATM or in store transactions).

Geolocation Tracking

The AgFed Mobile  App periodically collects, transmits, and uses geolocation information to enable features that prevent fraudulent card use and send alerts, but only if the End User expressly authorizes collection of such information. Geolocation information can be monitored on a continuous basis in the background only while the Solution is being used or not at all, depending on the End User's selection. End Users can change their location permission at any time in their device settings.
